Black sempervivum (or hens & chicks) is a mat-forming succulent forming attractive rosettes of thick, fleshy, bright green leaves adorned with dark, burgundy tips. As the weather cools, the entire rosette darkens to a lovely purplish-bronze for showy fall colour.
