Seed Potatoes
Potatoes, harvested from your backyard, and then boiled and served with plenty of butter, are nothing short of heavenly. Pick them small for the most delicate garden treat. Let them get larger if you want to mash or store them. Plant the seed Potatoes two to four weeks before the last spring frost. Plant them 12 in. apart and cover with about 3 in. of soil. When the shoots reach 10-12 in. tall, use a hoe or shovel to scoop soil from between rows and mound it against the plants, burying the stems halfway. Repeat as needed through the growing season to keep the tubers covered.
BintjeOriginating in 1910, Bintje potatoes have a pale yellow skin on a long oval tuber with a yellow flesh. Heavy setting, the thick skin makes this a good storage potato. Excellent all purpose potato with fairly dry texture. Great for corn chowder.

CaribeCaribe potatoes are a high yielding oblong potato. These are an early maturing variety that can grow quite large if planted early and left until the end of season for harvest. Excellent storage qualities and great for boiling.

Shepody are a long, smooth, white-skinned, white-fleshed, potato cultivar with excellent French frying quality and Kennebec maturity. Excellent for boiling, baking or french fries. Some resistance to rhizoctonia (black scurf). Stores well.
