Portulacas are known by many different names: verdolaga, pigweed, little hogweed, red root, pursley, and moss rose. These flowers are especially well-suited for growing in containers on patios and decks, with their fleshy, succulent leaves, red stems, and colorful cactus-like flowers in shades of red, orange, yellow, pink, purple and white. Plants prefer hot, dry, almost desert-like conditions.
Happy Hour Portulacas can bloom up to two weeks earlier than other Portulaca series. Excellent in containers, great for massing in the landscape, or edging mixed borders. Plants will flourish in hot, dry, sunny conditions.
