Baptisia (Wild Indigo)
Baptisia's rugged plants with their lupine-like spires of bloom are real attention-getters. These are tough, virtually pest- and disease-free perennials with handsome foliage, intriguing seedpods, and a long season of interest. Mature plants resemble small shrubs in size and shape. Planted in full sun, they come back bigger and better each year.
"Australis"Australis Baptisia has strong sturdy stems with small blue-green leaves. Long tapering spikes of indigo-blue, pea-shaped flowers offer wonderful early summer color. Long green pea pods turn black in fall for added interest.
